Applied Process University (AP University) is a two-day, non-commercial, invitation-only formal training program that is hosted and executed by the Applied Process family of companies.

Program Description:
AP University trains attendees in the benefits, design and manufacture of Austempered Ductile Iron and Austempered Steel components.

Who Should Attend?
While this program is meant primarily for design engineers others (metallurgists, purchasing, quality and operations management) have attended and benefited greatly. Technical personnel from foundries and machine shops, as well as individuals involved in purchasing and other roles should apply.

Since its inception in 2012, over 400 industry professionals have completed this training.  There is high demand and often the classes fill to capacity, so register early to secure your spot!

Program Structure:
Training consists of 2 days of classroom instruction from experienced and qualified instructors (link to bios section at bottom of page), several of whom have taught at the college level. It also includes two plant tours.

The first tour takes students through the original Applied Process plant in Livonia, MI.

The second tour takes place at the Joyworks Studio in Ann Arbor, MI, where students will watch actual ductile iron production.

Program Length:
2 days

There are no fees to attend the AP University course and all training, labs and meals are included.

Attendees are responsible only for costs associated with travel and lodging.
